Now it's time to yodel! Immerse yourself and your team in the tradition of Swiss folk singing under the guidance of a professional.

Yodeling from the heart

Yodelling is at once very Swiss and universal: the textless singing of vocalization syllables ("Dri-li-dü-jo-dri-li...") is practised worldwide, in Europe especially in the Alpine region. In this workshop you will learn about yodeling in general and the natural yodel from Appenzell/Toggenburg in particular, taught by a professional. A natural yodel is sometimes sung devoutly, sometimes joyfully, sometimes with melancholy, but always from the heart. Give it a try, it doesn't take much courage. "Graad usä!" In this workshop, you will sing melodies from the Swiss alpine tradition cheekily and with a lot of joy. When you are accompanied by the spontaneous choir of your team, you will feel real solidarity!

More Sennisch sounds and an Oscar-winning yodel melody

Talerschwingen and "Scheläschötte" are also part of the culture around the Säntis and the Sennisch sounds that the workshop leader will teach you. Dressed in an original Toggenburg traditional costume, he will also be happy to tell you how a "Zäuerli" comes to Hollywood or how a yodel melody can win an Oscar, as he himself once composed this melody. The workshop leader

Ruedi Roth, composer of around 30 natural yodels and 30 yodelling songs, won the Oscar for best film music in 2015 with his melody "Rothe-Zäuerli", which can be heard in the award-winning film "The Grand Budapest Hotel" by Wes Anderson. He was the composer of the performance "Seeleklang" at the Northeast Swiss Yodelling Festival 2013 in Wattwil and took part in the first Swiss yodelling musical "Stilli Zärtlichkeite" in 2017. In addition to various other activities, such as organizing "Hiking and Yodelling" in Switzerland and the week-long river trip "Jodlerchilbi" in Europe, the professional yodeller has produced eight recordings and is the conductor of the Wattwil Yodelling Club and the Heimetchörli Hemberg.
