The history of wine in Chur
Did you know that Chur was once the largest winegrowing community in Graubünden? On a walk from the Episcopal Court to the Torculum Viticulture Museum you will learn a lot of interesting facts about the more than two thousand year old history of viticulture in the Alpine town.
Museum visit and tasting
After you have heard about the Romans, got to know some local grape varieties and learned what a "Torkel" is, you will be guided through the Chur wine museum. With the help of the exhibits and a film documentation you will dive even deeper into the regional wine culture. Afterwards, the new knowledge will be deepened with sensual impressions: You will be able to taste three wines from Chur and enjoy fine Grisons snacks (bread, dried meat and alpine cheese).
Eating in the old town
After a short walk back to the old town, you will be pampered with Grisons specialities in a beautiful restaurant. You have the choice between the restaurant of the historic Romantik Hotel Stern, the historic Zunfthaus zur Rebleuten and the listed restaurant Drei Könige. The prices depend on the number of participants and choice of menu. Let us advise you.
