Your day in the Jura

Once you've travelled to the Neuenburger Jura you will begin your exciting day with breakfast in the Café des Mines at the asphalt mines in La Presta. Strengthened by coffee, tea, fruit juices, mineral water and, of course, croissants and the local "Taillaule" speciality breads, you will then split up into smaller groups and start the gourmet rally.

A culinary parcours

A parcours with six different posts will allow you to learn about this wonderful region in the far west of Switzerland and complement this knowledge by tasting the region's delicacies. Amongst the possible themes are:

• the absinthe of Val-de-Travers
• ham cooked in asphalt
• chocolate specialities from Val-de-Travers
• regional cheeses
• the water buffalo of the Neuenburger Jura
• sparkling wines from the Mauler cellars

The running order, themes, and number of posts can be designed to suit the size of the group and available time.

Lunch and visit to the asphalt mines

You can now fortify yourselves for the excitements of the afternoon in the Café des Mines, with its big fireplace and photographs of days gone by. The "St Barbara" lunch, with mixed salad followed by the house speciality of asphalt cooked ham with potato gratin and green beans, is rounded off by ice cream parfait with a crunchy topping or absinthe. Fed and watered, you can now dive into the fascinating underground world of the asphalt mines. And of course you'll also discover which team has won the gourmet parcours. No-one will go home empty-handed!
