Hike to the eternal ice
You don't have to be a mountaineer to experience the fascinating cool beauty of the glacier. You will be met by a trained mountain guide and led along the glacier path, past the different age phases of the glacier, to the eternal ice. Here you make a detour to the glacier itself.
Glacier trekking - with aperitif on request
Equipped with crampons, rope and ice axe, you are well secured as you enter the alpine world of ice. Gain highly impressive insights into crevasses and moulins! Your mountain guide knows the area inside out, will be happy to answer your questions and has lots of fascinating stories to tell about the formation of glaciers and the consequences of climate change, which are nowhere more evident than on our glaciers.
On request, we will be happy to serve you an aperitif with fresh bread, sliced cheese and a cool sip of white wine in the immediate vicinity of the glacier or on the glacier itself.
The Rhone Glacier
The Rhone Glacier flows from the Dammastock at around 3600 m southwards into Valais. The glacier tongue is currently located at around 2250 m. This is the source of the Rhone. Due to the retreat of the glacier, a small lake has formed here in the last two years, which will grow considerably as the glacier continues to melt. The glacier tongue is easily accessible on foot from the Furka Pass road.
