In this course, you will learn how to use a commercially available pepper spray safely and in compliance with the law in a threatening situation. The workshop is aimed at men and women.

The right way to use pepper spray

In this workshop, you will learn how to defend yourself effectively in a threatening situation. The main focus is on the correct use of pepper spray. The following topics will be covered in theory and practice:

• Legislation, self-defense and proportionality (theory)
• Presentation of different pepper sprays
• Tactical behavior (practical exercise)
• Working with pepper spray (practical exercise)
• How to behave after using a pepper spray
• Debriefing and exchange of findings

Workshop procedure and target group

The course lasts a total of two hours. The theoretical part (approx. 45 minutes) is followed by an hour of practical work with the pepper spray and a concluding discussion about the lessons learned and insights gained during the workshop. The course is aimed at women and men who carry a pepper spray for their own protection and want to be able to use it safely and in accordance with the law in an emergency.
