Riding with Alpacas Through the Emmental Hills
Would you like to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, slow down, enjoy nature, and experience something truly special? Then book this trek and take a walk through the beautiful Emmental with an alpaca by your side. The walk takes about an hour (3.5 km, 100 meters of elevation gain). Before and during the walk, you’ll learn more about the history and needs of these fascinating, gentle animals.
Their companions, the alpacas
There are currently nine alpacas living at the Emmentaler Hof. You can choose the animal that suits you best for your walk:
- Lilly: trusting, cheeky, and impatient
- Benian: elegant, aloof, and brave
- Boris: peaceful, patient, and reserved
- Gandalf: demanding, spontaneous, and intuitive
- Hansruedi: fearless, charming, and self-assured
- Tscheggi: shy, reliable, and moody
- Sir Fred Lui: endearing, insecure, and polite
- Knorrli: friendly, easygoing, and a glutton
- Ozli: gentle, confident, and attentive
- Luziana: charming, sensitive, and elderly
A light snack after a stroll
After your stroll, enjoy an aperitif in the courtyard. When the weather is warm, you can sit outside and enjoy homemade syrup, your choice of mineral water, coffee, a glass of wine, or a beer, along with pastries or snacks—all while taking in the beautiful view of the Alps and the Emmental hills.
