Deceleration and relaxation
Your excursion into nature begins in Burgdorf, at the gateway to the beautiful Emmental. At the beginning of the hike with the goats, you hand in your mobile phone so that you can fully concentrate on your animal companions, your surroundings and yourself. The goats set the pace. Deceleration instead of time pressure is the order of the day. It is not about performance, not about a goal, but about relaxation and enjoyment.
On picturesque paths
On a leisurely hike in the surroundings of Burgdorf and Affoltern i. E. you will discover beautiful walking paths and reach vantage points that offer you a wide view of the Jura or the Alps. The walks take between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the route.
Your companions, the goats
The goats or "Geissen", as they are called in Swiss German, carry your luggage and accompany you on the hike through the Emmental. They are tame, love walks in the forest and can also be led on a lead. The five animals belong to Pro-Specie-Rara breeds, old domestic animal breeds which are considered to be particularly robust and healthy. Geissen are among the oldest domestic animals of man and are still kept in many places in the Emmental, often for milk production: goat's cheese is more popular today than ever.
