The great Gotthelf-Tour
The poet, pastor and social critic Jeremias Gotthelf (1797-1854) left many traces in the Emmental. On this tour of discovery, you will be taken to the places where he worked and to the original settings where his stories took place and where the famous films were shot. After visiting various locations and an Emmental meal, a guided tour of the Gotthelf Centre is on the programme.
Visit of the scenes and places of action
The meeting point is at Utzenstorf station. Here you will be met by your personal Emmental tour guide. After the welcome, the journey begins. You will visit the places where Gotthelf was active, such as the church in Utzenstorf, take a coffee break at the "Glungge" farm in Wynigen (the scene of "Ueli the farmhand") and then discover the spycher of Anne Bäbi Jowäger.
Dinner and afternoon program
Enjoy a hearty lunch in a typical Emmental country inn. Afterwards you can travel by car or private transport via Lueg, Affoltern and Sumiswald over the famous Emmental hills to Lützelflüh and the Gotthelf Centre.
