Art instead of waste
To try your hand at this workshop as a lamp designer, you do not need any previous knowledge. In the glass design studio you will experience and discover directly how waste glass can be processed into beautifully shaped everyday articles. You will get to know different glass processing methods such as grinding, polishing and sandblasting and apply the different techniques yourself depending on the variant you choose.
The two variants of the workshop
For groups of up to 13 people, two implementation variants are available. In both cases, you first select the blank to which you would like to give a second life from various bottles of wine, schnapps and whisky.
- The first variant:
The original label remains on the lamp.
You cut and grind your lamp by hand with glass abrasive paper, without sandblasting and decorative elements. Finally, you choose a cable colour and assemble your lamp. - The second variation:
The original label is removed.
By means of cutting, machine grinding, polishing, decorating and sandblasting you can create a lamp according to your wishes and ideas. Choose a cable and complete your light. >>/ul>
For larger groups
For larger groups (14 to max. 20 persons) the first variant is automatically carried out, i.e. without removing the original label and without sandblasting and decorative elements. Again, you choose from various beautiful bottles the one whose shape appeals to you most, and cut and sand it by hand with glass sandpaper. With the cable in the colour of your choice, your lamp is ready for use.
