The Basel speciality and its history
The baking team will welcome you to the baking workshop for Basler Läckerli. During the introduction you will learn that the gingerbread-like pastry is made from wheat flour, candied fruit and nuts. The history of the Basel speciality is also the subject of the workshop before you dare to start baking.
Mixing, kneading, baking
Too many cooks spoil the porridge, they say, but it's better to bake in teams of two or four: in small groups you dare to tackle the task of making authentic Basel Läckerli yourself. The first step is to mix the right ingredients. Then the dough is kneaded and rolled out. The speciality is already ready for the oven.
Apéro during baking
While the pastries are slowly baked in the oven ready to eat, you can enjoy a cosy aperitif with a glass of Prosecco or orange juice in the team. Once the Läckerli have cooled down, they can be cut, glazed and tasted. The finale is the packing of the Läckerli into small bags, which you can then take home. The workshop is also suitable for baking a personal gift for employees or business partners.
