Trekking on ice
Secured with the necessary equipment to the mountain guide’s rope, you make a trip onto the glacier itself.
On request we can serve an aperitif with fresh bread, mountain cheese and a cool sip of white wine close to the glacier or on the glacier itself.
Steingletscher (Stone Glacier)
At 4,3 km the Steingletscher on Sustenpass is one of the smaller glaciers in the Bernese Oberland. It flows to the west side of the Klein Sustenhorn along north. The glacier tongue is currently just above the Steinsee at 1940 M. The glacier water flows through the Gadmertal and into the Aare in Innertkirchen.
Rhone Gletscher (Rhone Glacier)
The Rhone glacier goes from Dammastock approximately 3600 m to the south into the Valais. The glacier tongue is currently at about 2250m. This is source of the Rhone. Due to the retreat of the glacier, a small lake has formed here in the last two years which will significantly enlarge with further melting of the glacier. The glacier is easily accessible on foot from the Furka Pass.
