Exploring the rocks
Do you know the sandstone cave near Burgdorf? This cave was created by quarrying sandstone, which was needed for the construction of the Burgdorf town church and other historical buildings. The impressive cave still exists today and can be visited in the company of a cave guide. The walk is easy and mostly possible standing upright.
Equipment for the cave tour
The temperature in the cave is about 8 degrees in summer and winter. So do not forget to bring a warming jacket. The cave is accessible with normal footwear. Closed shoes that provide good grip are an advantage. If possible, you should also bring a helmet and a headlamp. Both can also be rented on site.
Duration and social program
A trained mountain and cave guide will accompany you on the walk through the sandstone cave. He also knows a lot about its history. The tour lasts about an hour. Combine the excursion with a beautiful hike over the Flüeh rock formation near Burgdorf. Between the program points you can strengthen yourself in a restaurant not far from the cave. We will be happy to put together a comfortable program for you.
