On this varied hike you will enjoy honey at the beekeeper's, wine at the vintner's and a trip on Lake Thun.

Adventure hiking in the Bernese Oberland

Make your way to a couple of genuine Bernese Oberlanders, namely a beekeeper and a vintner, whose products you can of course also taste. On your hike you will also discover a magnificent remnant of the Aare glacier, enjoy wonderful views of Lake Thun and take a boat trip. Look forward to an eventful day full of interesting information. Starting point is Aeschiried, end point at Spiez Castle.

A visit to the beekeeper

At the beekeeper's you will learn everything about the industrious and unfortunately endangered life of honey bees. You can uncover and spin honeycombs yourself, fill the honey into jars and taste different types of honey. Well protected, you will observe the bees during their activities, learn more about the formation of the honeycomb and about the amazing health effects of propolis and pollen.

For groups of 12 or more, instead of the apiary you will visit an artillery plant disguised as a chalet under the fortifications on Lake Thun.

Tasting at the winegrower

After a short walk to the Schiffländte, the tour then continues by water to Spiez. Here you will visit a winegrower whose small but fine winery is located right next to the castle and taste three Spiez wines.

If you wish, you can also book just the hike to the vintner, with a guided tour through the vineyard (approx. 45 min.) and a tasting of four local wines of your choice, including barriques (from oak barrels). In addition, you will be served an aperitif plate, grissini and mineral water.
