Both in a team and in a bridge, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Individual bamboo poles are all well and good, but only those who build a bridge or a footbridge from them can overcome an obstacle and carry other people. This joint bridge construction shows how important each step, no matter how small, is for the big picture. Just as a bridge only supports when each element is in place, a team only functions when each team member performs his or her tasks.

On to new shores

Building bridges together is the perfect metaphor for a planned kick-off or team fusion. Not only does a bridge overcome obstacles, it connects the old with the new and leads to new shores, to new possibilities.

The procedure

The right planning is what counts. That is why a prototype is first created and tested, and only when the group has agreed on a joint approach will bridge construction begin. And finally the question arises: Who dares to enter the bridge first? Does the team trust its own work?
